The Aldebaran, a modest inn (technically, a ryokan) can be found in a remote area on the borders of the Earth District. Neighboring an archery dojo, the Aldebaran is a peaceful place to enjoy the simplicity of Japanese life and is also the perfect place for certain Zodion style rendezvouses. |
★ TEA CEREMONIES A regular occurrence at the Aldebaran—one can expect tea ceremonies to happen at noon everyday and on certain holidays. Alternately, guests may rent a room and request for it to be performed privately. Miyaji will probably offend a lot of people in his attempts to do this and has other responsibility to attend to so despite his intentions, Miyaji will be incredibly infrequent in his attempt to be a substitute tea master until he can find a more suitable replacement.
★ DINING Food is primarily served in the guestrooms, though there is a communal dining area and teppanyaki grill where guests and employees alike can mingle. The menu usually consists of tea and light meals served with utensils of bamboo or cheap lacquerware, and both the tea and alcohol can be served warm or chilled, depending on its type. Kasieki meal options are available.
★ ROOM AND BOARD All rooms are good for two people (maybe four to six if you really want them all to squeeze in); equipped Japanese-style, meaning tatami flooring, sliding doors, and sleeping mats. Each room is modestly furnished (with two futons each—though up to four more can be requested; a kotatsu; a pair of yukata; and some complimentary supplies of tea, complete with the proper equipment). The rooms have minimal decoration, and some of them open out to porches. Courtesy is highly valued in this establishment, especially as the guest rooms are connected to each other via sliding doors.
★ BATHS Don't have sex in them, I'm looking at you, Suzuya. The communal baths are segregated by sex, and can hold up to several people at a time. Think sprawling wood panels and an indoor hot springs fitted into a large rectangular pool. It's common courtesy to bathe in the nude, but guests may use their towels to protect their modesty if they so choose. Swimsuits and any other articles of clothing are not allowed; neither are males allowed into the female area and vice versa. Fresh towels and yukata are provided for.
★ PRIVATE FUNCTIONS The Aldebaran has several rooms that are primarily used for tea ceremonies, though owing to the flexibility of Japanese-style residences these tearooms may also be used for other things, like meetings, parties, and so on. These are, of course, separate from the bedrooms, though save for the futons their furnishings are similar.
ooc: The old owner would probably be happy that people were having tons of sex here so you don't need permission to use the facilities for those sorts of shenanigans! Though if the current owner walks in, he's going to be a lot more grumpier, aha. But on the other hand, if you're wanting to destroy the place, please contact me first. |
